oRDINANCE nO. 25-03-19 (TRUCK ROUTE)

ORDINANCE NO. 25-03-19


AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BARSTOW, TEXASRESTRICTING ANY VEHICLE EXCEEDING (10,000 lbs.) FROM TRAVELING THROUGH A RESIDENTIAL AREA 

EXCEPT ON STATE HIGHWAY 516 AND/OR HIGHWAY 873 ONLY, DETERMINING THAT THERE IS A NEED FOR A TRUCK ROUTE FOR TRAFFIC CONTROL. 

WHEREAS, it has been determined that there is a need for a truck route for traffic control.

WHEREAS, that this ordinance sets forth a limit on any vehicle, trailer or combination exceeding (10,000 lbs.), from traveling through residential areas except on Highway 516 and Highway 873, hereby designated (truck route).

WHEREAS, that any person driving such a vehicle on any street other than a truck route would be subject to a fine not to exceed $500.00 (five hundred dollars) in violation of this ordinance. 

WHEREAS, that this ordinance be in effect from and after its being adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of Barstow, Texas.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of Barstow, Texas that this ordinance be and is hereby adopted:

PASSED, WITH THE THIRD READING, AND APPROVED THE

19thDAY OF MARCH, 2025.
